Food is an integral part of being Hyderabadi, and there are a host of dishes peculiar to the city. In the oldest part of town are the best eateries with the choicest delicacies that define Hyderabadi cuisine. While the most visible and well-known dish of Hyderabad is the biryani, there are many other dishes that complement and supplement the King of Dishes!
A four-hour tour that takes you to the two competing seats of power in Hyderabad. The Nizam’s dominions, or Hyderabad State, was a vassal to the British throne from 1798 onwards. This meant there were two centers of power. One was the palace of the Nizam, the absolute monarch of his domains. The other was the Residency, the palace of the Resident – the representative of the British monarch.
The walled city of Golconda was the capital of the Qutb Shahi kings before they built Hyderabad. Once a great centre of trade and commerce, Golconda was sacked by the Mughals in 1687 CE, after which it was abandoned.
We explore the historic city centre of Hyderabad along with the foundational monuments built in 1591 CE. We go back in time to the building of the city and climb to the gallery of the monumental Charminar for views of the surrounding Old City.
