About

A food walk in the Nampally and Mallepally areas where we explore Hyderabad’s urban history and how it influenced the food we will eat on the walk. From a couple of Hyderabad’s most iconic local favourites to roadside delicacies you never knew – we take you on a wild ride of kebabs and desserts and chai.

We explore the lanes that make up the oldest parts of the city, and check out the busy bazaars where people do their shopping as well as eating!

Itinerary

This walk features iconic eateries and delicious food, known only to locals. Our starting point is one of the old city’s best kept secrets, and dishes out some seasonal delicacies all year round.

We will visit at leaast 6 places, and have some local favourite foods, including kebabs, haleem and shawarma.

We will explore the well-planned lanes of Mallepally, where Hyderabad’s middle class came into itself.

We will also visit one of Hyderabad’s most popular dessert destinations, and try a seasonal favourite dessert.”

Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are stronlgy recommended. Wear comfortable and sturdy footwear. Dress so that your knees and shoulders are covered, as some of the places we might go into are of religious significance.

Most parts of the Old City do not have usable restrooms. However, we have usable restrooms at Chowmahalla Palace, British Residency, Golconda and the Qutb Shahi tombs.

Everything is paid for on the tours, and your guides will not ask you for any money. Do carry money in Indian rupees if you want to do any shopping for souvenirs.

Yes – the tours are interesting and appropriate for children aged 8 and up.
